In 1924, with the conception of the first ball-bearing sealless centrifugal pump, Ruthman Pump and Engineering furthered the design with a unit with a one-piece motor-driven shaft. The pump was called “Gusher,” giving rise to the trage name “Gusher Pumps and the coining of the term “Coolant Pump.”
Gusher pumps come in a variety of styles, including: vertical sump pump, horizontal closed-coupled, basemount, self-primers, ANSI dimension, top pull-out, vortex, recessed impeller and more.
Pumps range from 1/2 HP to 250 HP and from 5 GPM to 6000 GPM. Gusher pumps are able to process a variety of liquids from clean water to molten metal.
