Alternative Pump Technology for Abrasives, Corrosives and Trash
Chicago Industrial Pump Company (CIPC) developed the Pitbull line of pumps to make tough sumps easy. The Pitbull pump is an innovative, simple solution to many of industry’s difficult pumping applications. Using only two check valves and a hollow chamber, the Pitbull will fill and then discharge almost any combination of liquid and solids that can flow through its wide open inlet.
The operation of the Pitbull is inherently automatic unlike conventional pumps, so it will match the cycle rate to the inflow rate, and shut itself off when flow stops without needing level controls. Pitbulls use compressed air as the motive force, acting directly on the liquid without the need for diaphragms or seals. The all-pneumatic operation simplifies installation, eliminates shock hazards and is suitable for explosion-proof areas.

The Pitbull pump is capable of pumping any combination of fine particulates up to 5 1/2″ solids at 0 to 500 gpm and 0 to 250 feet tdh.
The Pitbull Pump has full, pipe-sized passages allowing it to move large solids. Full port check valves open wide to pass debris ranging from long and stringy to large and hard. The pumping action cycles the check valves, helping large debris to work through the pump instead of pligging. There is no impeller to wrap or bind, no diaphragms to cut with sharp objects or attack with heat, chemicals or wear.
Select a model large enough to handle the desired flow rate or largest solid, and the pump is nearly ready to put into service. No NPSH requirement any model pumps up to 250 tdh; solids percentage can vary from high to low, if the fluid flows by gravity, it will be pumped; cycling is automatic, no level control required; no electricity required.
